Found this 89 Jeep, and I've never seen one with this front end. It was used on a trim level of the Cherokee, called the Wagoneer from 86-90.
and the seats on this thing look amazing. I mean I don't really want an SUV but dang this thing seems like a ton of bang for your buck, and clean as hell.

It was supposed to be the more luxurious version, slotted above the regular Cherokee and below the classic Grand Wagoneer. Don't think they sold that many of them.

I guess not, probably because the front end looks too much like a first gen Caravan.

Would rather have a real Wagoneer

I remember my neighbor growing up have one in white with the wood/vinyl. Nothing particularly luxurious about it, and not much other than the grille and some different front seats to distinguish it from the plain cherokee, if I recall correctly.

True, they are pretty awesome.

this was before the grand cherokee. So if you liked the way the grand wagoneer looked but couldn't afford it you could always get the Cherokee. Personally I wish jeep would bring back this cherokee. The xj is one of the most well designed vehicles ever

Also the only XJs to have all red tail lights.

DAMN! that's a major NP in my book. it only had 140K too. If this was near by I'd be buying that tonight(no joke)!

That looks like a pretty solid car. That automatic transmission was one of the best Jeep put into a vehicle, and the Renix 4.0L is pretty reliable and fairly easy to upgrade (injectors, intake, exhaust, etc.).
